July Brewing

I made a Witbier recipe today.  This was an experiment in that I used ALL of our sparge water even though we couldn’t fit it all in the boil kettle.  I also kept the sparge water at 190 degrees and did a quick sparge of 45 minutes.  I pretty much nailed final gravity at 1.054.  What I have learned in the last several brew experiments is that I CAN have a short 45minute sparge provided that the sparge water is 190 degrees in the tank to keep the grain bed 170 degrees.  Note, at the end of the sparge, the grain bed was about 164 degrees.
