Getting Ready for ‘King of the Mountain’ Homebrew Competition

I just bottled the spring lineup for the King of the Mountain homebrew competition (2014) sponsored by the Little Mountain Homebrewers Association.  The beers being submitted are: Bock, Saison, Stock Lager II, Amber and RyePA – a very nice spring flight!

Three of the five recipes are the first time I have done them.  Most of you have sampled all of these.  Surprisingly to me, many of you favor the Saison.  The Bock and Lager seems to be sampled out more too.  The RyePA needs some more formulation work in the future – it kinda fell ‘flat’ after filtration.  Judging takes place May 17th.

Unlike the last homebrew competition where the beer carbonation was spotty and weak, these should be a lot better as I used a counter-pressure filler.

Wish them luck!  A lot of your help on brewday went into these.  Thanks!
